Vanda "Pistol" Edmondson comes by that name honestly. Her first triathlon coach called her "Pistol" because she was like a loaded gun, and always hit any target placed before her. Edmondson has been a triathlete for 5 years, but is no stranger to competition and or overcoming struggles. Vanda, a colon cancer survivor, feels the cancer speed bump actually propelled her to greater things and saved her life. Deciding to become fit after the cancer battle, she resolved to get in the best shape of her life. In doing so, she lost 70 pounds and became not only a triathlete, but a top ranked contender. Since that time, her relentless drive and no excuses attitude has placed her among the top ranked females in her age group in the disciplines of triathlon, aqualathon, and aquabike.
Vanda has competed in numerous triathlons, including 7 half Ironman distance (70.3), 2 Olympic, and countless sprint distances. She has competed in Aquabikes and Aqualathons as well. She has also qualified forTeam USA and competed at four ITU Multi Sport World Championships. (Long Distance Triathlon, Aqualathon, and Aquabike.) One of her biggest goals was realized in 2015 when she swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles, and ran 26.2 miles to earn the title “Ironman” in Cozumel, Mexico.
Over the past three years, Vanda has been spent being a student of multisport, nutrition, and adrenal fatigue. Most recently she has become a relentless self experimenter using the science of a strict Ketogenic diet as well as a plethora of other weapons in her arsenal to, combat, heal and avoid further metabolic issues.
Vanda has an earnest desire is to utilize her backgrounds and experience to encourage, educate and empower endurance athletes to reach their full potential at CrossFit Sintered.
